Dr. John Oliver to Speak at Community Reformation Service

Dr. John W.P. Oliver, a renowned preacher who now holds the Robert Strong Chair of Homiletics and Practical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary - Charlotte, will be the guest speaker on Sunday evening, October 26 for the 2nd Annual Community Reformation Worship Service hosted by Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, North Carolina. The service begins at 6:00 p.m. and both church groups and individuals are welcome to attend. Reformation Day marks the date that the German monk Martin Luther publicly separated himself from the church authorities in Rome by nailing his 95 point thesis listing his specific disagreements on the castle door of the Wittenberg. Special music for this year’s worship service will include hymns written by Luther and others who formed the Reformation movement that swept through Western Europe in the 1500’s.
